Entrepreneurship; the chase to strive for complete freedom, specifically time and money freedom.
When we pursue the path of entrepreneurship and start on this journey, we often don’t know what’s on the other side of it.
We just know that we don’t want to be part of the mundane standard system that the rest of the world takes part in every day.
You know, the typical:
wake up,
rush to work,
work for 8 hours for ‘the man’,
pursue some sort of retirement plan,
come home,
make dinner,
feel exhausted,
watch TV,
go to sleep,
wake up,
and do it again.
Deep down, none of us want to be doing this, but we’ve been convinced that working to make more money is the path to happiness and achievement.
That is a pretty lame existence, but many people just deal with it because they feel it’s how life goes and it’s normal because everyone else is doing it.
Entrepreneurship is the attempt to try and escape all of that.
But the thing that we almost never anticipate is that on the other side of this, when we do achieve freedom, we’ve broken away from this system.
And yes, there are millions of entrepreneurs and plenty of other people to relate to who have also done this.
But when you’re pursuing entrepreneurship for the first time on your own, you’re often not aware of what’s waiting for you on the other side…

Many times, this adventure can distance you from lifelong friends and even your family.
Often, you have to give up and sacrifice hobbies and interests to put more time into your project or new business venture.
Entrepreneurship also comes with a new way of thinking about life, yourself, and your relationships.
This new way of thinking is also very different than most of the people that you likely have around you in your life.
Sure, there are exceptions, such as people who are born into wealth and running companies is just part of life for them.
But for everyday normal people, this is not the case.
Our parents worked normal jobs, and we grew up watching them do so.
We weren’t taught smart financial habits, and we weren’t taught about how money and power really run the world.
So when you do break out of the so-called “matrix”, things can actually be quite lonely, frustrating, and confusing.
We can feel very lost because there’s no real reference point of normalcy around us anymore, and it’s up to us to determine our structure.
That word ‘structure’ is really important in this conversation because we are now fully responsible for building the structure of our own life, including our routine, our work hours, our planning, our money, our taxes, and our entire future, along with everything else that goes with running a business.
It’s a massive shift.
And to prove my point, just look at anybody who wins the lottery. The vast majority of them lose all of their money and actually end up worse off than they were to begin with.
An even simpler version of this is if you remember the TV show ‘Pimp My Ride.’ They would take people who were struggling financially, and they would upgrade their vehicles, often over the top.
But, it essentially just put a band-aid over the real issue, which is that many of these vehicles were not fit to be on the road in the first place.
So you can think of this in the same way that you think about an entrepreneur’s mind.
It often doesn’t change overnight, but for the few percentage of people who do find overnight success, it often ends in failure.
So the other option is to slowly build up your knowledge, your confidence, your education, and your abilities and skills slowly along the way to pursue time freedom and financial freedom.
But eventually down that path, you’ll wake up and realize that you live in an entirely different existence to those around you, which can be quite lonely and isolating.
I share this with you because I know what it’s like and how hard it is to pursue your own vision of success.
It can be lonely, but I promise you its still worth it.
At the end of it all you get to know the most fascinating person in the world – yourself.
