When someone doesn’t like:
the way you express yourself,
the way you dress,
the way you act,
the things you say,
the photos you post,
or the things you make:
They are insecure.
They are not happy.
Confidence does not need to be loud.
Often, it’s quite the opposite.
I do whatever I want and I wear whatever I want.
Society is lame.
People are constantly trying to be ‘normal’.
Trying to fit into a mold of what is ‘accepted’.
Fuck. That.
Now, I’m nowhere near the biggest oddball on the planet, but I embrace the things I like regardless of what others think, and that will never change.
The people who call me their friend? They’re not drawn to some polished, perfected version of me. They’re drawn to me because they know I’m as real as it gets – and they know they can be too.
If anything, I try to boost the confidence of the people around me. I want to see them shine. I want to see them fully own their quirks, their oddities, the parts of themselves they usually hide. I want them to stand out – more, not less.
Anyone who feels the need to tell you how you “should” be, look, act, or dress? They’re not doing it out of care for you. They’re doing it because they haven’t had the guts to embrace themselves.
They’re unhappy. They’re stuck in a cycle of constant judgment, critique, and comparison. They think tearing others down is easier than fixing what’s broken within themselves.
So here’s the deal: Be yourself. Loudly. And if you don’t quite know what that looks like yet, that’s perfectly fine. Play around, test boundaries, and ignore anyone who tells you otherwise. Do some weird shit just because you can.
And if you feel like you’re stuck or struggling to figure out what being yourself even means, let me give you a roadmap – something I call Place, Stack, & Flow.
Place: Makeover Your Environment
Your surroundings matter more than you think. A small shift in what you see every day can trigger a massive shift in what you do, how you think, and where you’re headed. Inspiration, motivation, even focus – they’re all influenced by the spaces you occupy. If you’re serious about this, start by curating a space that reflects who you are, not who the world expects you to be.
Stack: Upgrade Your Tech or Hobby Stack
Your “stack” – the tools, tech, or materials you use – is the backbone of your creativity. Whether you’re an artist, entrepreneur, or something in between, leveling up your gear can elevate your work. If you’re a photographer, it’s time to invest in that lens. If you’re a writer, find a setup that makes you want to keep going. Progress isn’t about getting a shiny new gadget; it’s about creating with tools that inspire you to get better, push further, go deeper.
Flow: Plan Your Routine, Schedule, and Habits
If you want freedom, real freedom, it starts with structure. Chaos isn’t freedom. Set a schedule, develop habits, and figure out what routines make you unstoppable. Life becomes a whole lot easier when you know where you’re going and have systems in place that support your creative flow.
Now, I’m challenging you to take an entire day for yourself and map out three things:
Your ideal workspace – where you feel most creative, focused, and at ease.
Your ultimate tech stack or tools – the things that make your craft or passion click.
Your perfect daily routine – the habits and schedules that keep you moving forward.
Draw it out. Write it down. Visualize it until it’s so real, you’re itching to make it happen.
And if you need a hand with building out a daily routine, download my free daily focus planner – it’s designed to help you cut through the noise and focus on what actually matters.
Take this blueprint and run with it. Try it, adapt it, and let it bring you closer to yourself. We’ve all got work to do on this journey, but if we’re living it out in our own authentic way, it’s work worth doing.
And if this clicks with you I want to hear about it. I’d love to know how it goes, so hit me back with your thoughts, questions, or insights.
